Literature is one of great creative and universal means of communicating emotional, spiritual, or intellectual concern of mankind. Literature is aimed to entertain the readers and to expand or refine the reader’s mind or quicken their sense of life. People as creative human beings may observe, criticize, and know deeper about the literary works as the object of analysis based on their knowledge and interest. This study discusses the Juvenalian Satire found in literature.
The objective of the study is to explain the Juvenalian satire against women and society found in Eminem’s lyrics. This study is expected to give a contribution to everyone who wants to understand the Eminem’s songs more deeply.
I applied the close reading and interpretation method in analyzing the songs. After selecting the data, I tried to identify the Juvenalian satire found in the songs.
The result of the study shows Eminem’s satire against women and society in his songs. They express what Eminem feels about the life of the people around him.
